How Nutritional Therapy Works
Personalised nutrition. A deeper look at your health.
Nutritional Therapy applies the science of nutrition and lifestyle medicine to your individual health, recognising that there is no one-size-fits-all approach.
Rather than simply managing symptoms in isolation, I look at the wider picture - your health history, nutrition, lifestyle, symptoms and, where appropriate, functional testing - to understand what may be contributing to how you feel.
From your first discovery call through to your personalised protocol and follow-up support, the process is structured around you, your goals and what is realistic for your life.

Follow-Up & Refinement
We start with a free 15-minute call to understand what you're looking for, discuss your main concerns and answer any questions about working together.
Your initial consultation is a detailed exploration of your health. We look at your symptoms and their timeline alongside your medical and family history, nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, movement, medications and supplements.
Following your consultation, I develop a tailored nutrition and lifestyle protocol based on your individual needs, goals and circumstances.
Where appropriate, recommendations may include dietary changes, lifestyle strategies, supplementation or functional testing. The aim is not to give you a rigid plan, but to create practical changes that you can actually implement.
Your health is not static, and neither is your plan.
Follow-up consultations give us the opportunity to review how you are responding, work through challenges, assess progress and refine your recommendations as we learn more about what works for you.
The goal is sustainable progress — not perfection.

A different way of approaching your health
Conventional medicine plays an essential role in diagnosing and treating disease, managing acute problems and keeping you safe.
Nutritional Therapy works differently. It gives us time to explore the wider picture, including nutrition, lifestyle, health history and the interconnected factors that may be contributing to your symptoms.
Rather than looking for a single quick fix, we work progressively to understand your individual patterns and identify practical changes that may support better health.
The two approaches are not mutually exclusive. Nutritional Therapy is complementary to conventional healthcare and, where appropriate, I will work alongside your existing medical care or recommend that you speak with your GP or another healthcare professional.
This isn't a quick fix - Meaningful health changes rarely happen overnight.
You may have been experiencing your symptoms for months or years, and understanding what is contributing to them can take time. Your protocol may evolve as we learn how your body responds.
This approach requires your involvement. You will need to be willing to make changes, experiment with new habits, reflect on how you are responding and give the process time.
My role is not to hand you a perfect plan and send you away. My role is to give you the knowledge, structure and support to make meaningful changes that can become part of your everyday life.
When testing may be useful
Functional testing isn't automatically part of every Nutritional Therapy programme. When your history and symptoms suggest that additional information could meaningfully inform your care, we may discuss targeted laboratory testing.
Depending on your individual circumstances, this might include stool, hormone or metabolic testing. The purpose is not to test for the sake of testing, but to gather useful information that can help guide your nutritional and lifestyle recommendations.
Any testing will be discussed with you beforehand, including why it may be relevant and what the results could - and could not - tell us.
